The 2017 Midlands Triangular team of Ryan Whitburn (Timaru), Dean Harrison (Ashburton), Matt Parsons (Rakaia), Greg Braid (Temuka), Jarmen Brooks (Timaru), Leanne Spite (Oamaru), Sherry McAuley (Oamaru), Alison Haumu (Timaru) Kate Grant (MacKenzie) & Tamzin Smith (Rakaia) were worthy winners of the 2017 Triangular Team's Event which was hosted by the Palmerston Squash Club at the weekend. The teams event which has been running for 22 years in the current format is contested by Midlands, Central Otago and Otago Metro. Central Otago has dominated the honour of holding the 'log of wood' with it being back in 2004 since Midlands took out the title. This achievement is timely for the Midland's District with playing number increasing due to a number of their old clubs re-affiliating to the National Body. Results of ties were: Otago Metro 7 versus Central Otago 3 Midlands 6 versus Otago Metro 4 Midlands 7 versus Central Otago 3 Comments are closed.
