Ten teams - 4 men's and 6 women's contested the 2018 F/J Super Champ Nationals played in a round robin format. The event was hosted by the Otago Squash Club from Thursday to Saturday evening. Seven of the ten teams represented North Island Clubs with the other three from Otago. The winning Devoy Team made up of junior players Erin Wylie, Kayla Bowles, Hope Kennerley, Verginia Werder, Genevieve Kennerley & Manager: Anthony Harris) dominated the Women's event only dropping two matches. Local teams Maniototo came in, in 2nd place from Otago in 3rd. The men's event was was won by Henderson Team of Cole Hitching, Andrew August, Shannon Osborne, Noah Smith, Mathew Kay, Mike Chalmers, Manannan O'Connell & Manager, Teresa Chalmers had a very competitive battle with 2nd place-getters Devoy Squash & Fitness (3/2 matches; 11/8 games; 236/234 points). The 2018 South Island Junior Age Group Team's Event is being played at the Otago Squash Club on Saturday and Sunday, 25th & 26th August. This event is played between Canterbury, Midlands, Otago and Southland on an annual basis between Under 11, 13, 15 & 17 Age Group Girl's and Boy's Teams to find the winner of each of those age groups as well as an overall winner. Sunnyvale took out the Dunedin interclub area 2018 'Top Club' Award closely followed by Otago University (2nd) and Taieri Squash Club in 3rd place. It has been a long 25 years since Sunnyvale has had the club's name on the shield which is a credit to the members that have worked diligently to raise their profile, increase playing numbers and improve the overall well-being of the club. Well done Sunnyvale!!
