" C' Grade Winners - Pirates Girls

Winning a National Super Champ title is no easy feat as the girls found out when looking over the shield for previous Otago winners - only twice before in the competition's existence.  In 1972 the Otago Squash Club took the title & then 1996, Logan Park Squash Club - a long time between drinks!!
Well done to the Pirates Composite team of Stacey Hitchcock (Pirates), Holly Thomas (Otago Uni), Joanna Heath (Cromwell), Hayley Flett (Pirates), Georgia McKenzie (Otago Uni) & Alana Graham (Otago) in putting in a huge effort in the final from 2 - 0 down and winning a very exciting 3 - 2 final to take out the title as New Zealand 'C' Grade Women's Club Champions last weekend in Hamilton.  Great effort girls - well deserved winners.
Sunnyvale Men put in their best effort but couldn't match their female counter-parts inside the squash court but I am sure they would have won the best supporters  & social award.  
The Otago SC 'D' Grade Women's  (Composite) Team also did the district proud by improving on their seeding.
