'B' Grade Super Champs - BOP clean sweep

Te Puke (women)  & Mt Maunganui (men) from the Bay of Plenty took the honours at the     G J Gardner Homes 'B'  Grade Super Champ National Finals held in Dunedin last week. To reach the finals, Te Puke conquered Kawaroa Park 5 - 0; Leamington Squash Club 4 - 1; losing to Christchurch Squash Club 3 - 2 and beating Thorndon Squash Club in the semis 3 - 2;  In the final they turned the tables on Christchurch beating them 4 - 1.
The Mt Maunganui Men's team had consistent results through their pool play recording 4 - 1 wins against  Surf City,  Titirangi, Timaru & Otago  with the final result being a 3 - 1 win over Lugton Park with the 5th match not being played. Competition was extremely tight, played with the usual good team spirit with players battling out 54  close five-setters.
