SNZ Covid'19 Update - 13th May

13/5/2020

Club Update - 13th May
Hi Everyone,
We hope this finds you well and looking forward to a bit more freedom come Thursday. Please read on for a quick update prior to the country moving into Alert Level 2, the update will cover the following:
  • Updated Level 2 Guidelines as of 13/05/2020
  • Helpful reminders for clubs
 Updated Level 2 Guidelines:
Please find attached the updated guidelines and recommendations from Squash NZ. These have changed slightly since the last update (8 May) so it is important for you all to re-familiarise yourself with them.
We have looked to clarify the following points:
A limit of 10 people per gathering - More than 10 people may be present in public or at a venue, as long as they are in separate groups and are not intermingling with each other.
The opening of bars at squash clubs - based on new Government guidelines, Squash New Zealand recommends that no squash club open their bar until 21 May.
 Helpful reminders:
  • It is now more important than ever to make sure clubs are completely ready to open. All clubs need to have  developed a safety plan. Squash NZ have provided an example of a suitable plan which can be found in the ‘Club Ready’ tool-kit here: https://squashnz.co.nz/content/Club_Support/Club%20Ready%20Toolkit.pdf. If your club has employees it will need to complete a WorkSafe Covid-19 Safety Plan.
  • Contact tracing is a must for all clubs. Whether that is a booking system, or a paper sign-in sheet, these are required by NZ Government regulations. A sample of some contact tracing options including a paper version can be found in the ‘Activity Guidelines’ tool-kit here: https://squashnz.co.nz/content/Level%202%20Activity%20Guidelines%20Toolkit%20V5.pdf
  • We recommend having your club only open for the necessitates, things like showers aren’t a necessity so consider blocking these off.
  • Encourage those visiting your club to be ‘in and out’ and ensure social distancing when not on court.
  • Even though we are all keen to get on court again as soon as possible, please ensure your club committee completes all required actions before re-opening.
 Happy hitting!
